I'm writing from a work camp in Worsley Alta. That means I am back on the blue collar work to round out the finances as I navigate the waters that is releasing an album. If you have known me from the past five years, you know that installing playgrounds around western Canada has, and is, a big part of my life. It keeps my body and my brain supremely active. It's a lot like touring. The crew is close, lots of inside jokes, lots of cheap gas station coffee, and lots of problem solving. The difference is that I actually make real money.

As I roll through "Side Winds", my second single from "Heritage Classic" (coincidentally released the day before the actual Oilers VS Flames Heritage Classic) I see myself missing a lot of important points pertaining to releasing music. But I take it in stride. Heritage Classic (The album) is a passion project. It was my coping mechanism through COVID. I loved it, then I hated it for a long time, and now I love it again. So I'm putting it out there. It was not made to be monetized or even really be played but its a Toe-in-the-water, a jumping off point for when I do chose to take my songwriting seriously. Because I think I can. I'm learning as I go, with a lot of resources and loved ones lending their hands and expertise. I oftentimes feel like I am pouring from an empty cup but whatever comes out will be good even if I miss some of the finer or even obvious points from the business side of things. I'll get it next time.
